Baseball's hypocritical marijuana rules leave Cardinals prospect high and dry

One of baseball's best prospects got suspended for 50 games Monday. He did not drive drunk. He did not hit a woman. He did not cheat in a game. He did something legal in four states, decriminalized in 16 and completely endorsed this time next year, when he's on a major league roster.

Nearly 10,000 medical marijuana supporters have signed a petition calling for Rosenberg to be replaced with a more pot-friendly DEA head.

Seeking condo restrictions on marijuana users isn’t blowing smoke

Normally, in almost all Q&A printed articles, the name of the person asking the question is published. If not, then I assume that the question is one that the article writer invented.

In your recent Q&A about smelling marijuana smoke in a development where he lives, the writer says, “… it still stinks up the whole block.” That is utter nonsense. Dogs can smell “green” marijuana plants from hundreds of feet away; their sense of smell is way more acute than humans. A human would have to be bent over and close to smell anything. Why do you think that people stick their noses into flowers to smell them?

Boulder tweaks marijuana regulations, but doesn't address sponsorship issue

The Boulder City Council adopted a set of changes to the city's marijuana regulations Tuesday night without addressing an outstanding question about advertising related to sponsorships.

Councilwomen Mary Young, Lisa Morzel and Suzanne Jones questioned why pot businesses would be treated so differently from alcohol businesses, which can have banners and booths at festivals.

In fact, a presentation after the marijuana vote on plans for the downtown Civic Area included a craft beer festival as an example of the type of event that could be held at gathering spaces, sparking an outburst from Morzel: "How is that not advertising?"

High-awatha tribe torch cannabis crop to thwart raid

A South Dakota American Indian tribe that sought to open the nation’s first marijuana resort burned its crop after federal officials signalled a potential raid, the tribal president said yesterday.

Flandreau Santee Sioux President Anthony Reider said the tribe had three weeks of discussions with authorities that culminated with a meeting in Washington that included a Justice Department official and US Attorney for South Dakota Randolph Seiler.

Mr Reider said the tribe wasn’t told a raid was imminent - only that one was possible if the government’s concerns weren’t addressed. He said the main holdup is whether the tribe can sell marijuana to non-Indians, along with the origin of the seeds used for its crop.

SC Medical marijuana bills poised for debate in House and Senate

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Proponents for medical marijuana believe it could soon be legal in South Carolina. Bills introduced in the State House of Representatives and the State Senate last session are currently in subcommittee and are up for discussion next session.

An Upstate woman is pushing hard for the legislation to pass which would legalize the entirety of the marijuana plant, not just the cannibidiol oil, which was legalized last year.

Emily McSherry suffers from a genetic blood disorder which causes her seizures. She said she tried several prescription medicines to control the seizures, but side effects included depression and suicidal thoughts. She said those severely disrupted her ability to parent and function properly.
