Pesticides that are illegal to use on marijuana plants in Colorado are being found in some recreational and medical pot products being marketed and sold to the public -- leading to product recalls, plant quarantines and even a class-action lawsuit involving people who say they would not have inhaled the product had they known illegal pesticides were used on them.

Pesticide testing is not mandatory for pot businesses in Colorado, nor are they subject to random pesticide testing, as are other crops, according to Mitch Yergert of the state's agriculture department. Pot businesses generally are left to self-regulate pesticides use, though officials say they are working to come up with a plan for better oversight.

More than 20 companies have applied for medical-marijuana dispensary licenses to locate in the two senatorial districts that cover Washington County, according to a breakdown of applications announced Tuesday by state officials.

The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission has posted the more than 800 dispensary license applications received by the Nov. 6 deadline on its website, listed in each of the state's 47 senatorial districts.

Phoenix, AZ – On Sunday, we reported that Colorado juries are increasingly acquitting people of driving under the influence of cannabis, and prosecutors are furious. The trend is important in that it represents jury nullification of an arbitrary, unscientific state law establishing a “legal limit” for blood-THC.

It’s been a couple of weeks since a handful of Illinois medical marijuana dispensaries started making legal sales to patients. It was a long, bumpy road for Illinois’ medical marijuana program up until that point. Despite having one of the most strict medical marijuana programs in the country, it still took considerable time and effort to get Illinois’ medical marijuana program to the point of providing legal, safe access to medical marijuana patients.

After the first week of sales, the numbers were released in regards to the amount of marijuana sold, the amount of money exchanged, and the average price of medical marijuana in Illinois. Per Fox 2 News:

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A bill to legalize medical marijuana was scheduled for a House vote Monday, but the vote has been pulled from the schedule.

Sources told ABC 27 an amendment is expected to be introduced that would “water” down Senate Bill 3 by putting caps on THC and the cannabis plant.

A rally will be held in the Capitol Rotunda at noon. A family who lost their child to Dravet syndrome, a severe seizure disorder, will speak. They believe their child would still be alive if medical cannabis was legal in Pennsylvania.

Those in favor of medical cannabis have been using the battle cry “Still sick, still waiting.”
