When you think of popular retirement destinations, Florida and Arizona likely come to mind.

But according to Reuters, some U.S. retirees are considering more than warm weather, good health care and close proximity to grandkids when deciding where to retire. Many American seniors are choosing to enjoy their golden years in a marijuana-friendly state.

Chris Cooper is a 57-year-old retired investment adviser from Ohio. He opted to retire in San Diego because California has legalized medical marijuana use. Cooper, who doesn’t like heavy-duty prescription painkillers like Vicodin, told Reuters that marijuana eases his back pain and spasms.

Public attitudes towards weed have softened so quickly that anti-marijuana activists are starting to look likehistorical anachronisms.

While the radical change in public attitudes toward marijuana has been swift, it also hasn't been overnight. As decriminalization of the drug spreads across the US, a congress in Colorado is promoting cannabis-friendly ministries: ‘Our magic comes from marijuana’

The cannabis industry is the hottest industry in the United States and it is growing at a rapid rate. This growth has led to a surge in the number of publicly traded cannabis companies. There are more 300 such companies and most of them will dissolve or shut down over the next two years.

When it comes to marijuana stocks, you cannot analyze them like your typical investment. These are developmental companies and a lot of them do not even generate revenue yet. For this reason, you cannot look into metrics like Earnings Per Share (EPS), Price to Sales (P/S) or Price to Book (P/B). Many investors do not have the time to perform thorough due diligence and look into all of the necessary factors, so we are going to focus on the most important ones. These are:

spite previously championing states’ rights, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) threatened on Tuesday to ignore the legalization of marijuana in Colorado if elected president,Bloomberg News reported.

“If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it,” Christie said during an event in Newport, New Hampshire. “As of January 2017, I will enforce the federal laws.”

The remark follows a longstanding pledge by the governor to institute a federal crackdown against the drug. In April, he told CNN that he considered it a “gateway drug.”

Out of the nearly 100 plant nurseries eligible to produce “Charlotte’s Web,” a low-THC, non-euphoric medical strain of marijuana, 24 are competing for one of only five available growing licenses.

According to Mara Burger, press secretary of the Florida Department of Health, 28 applications in total were received during the three-week open enrollment period. Several of the nurseries applied for licenses in more than one of the five designated regions (Northwest, Northeast, Central, Southwest, and Southeast).

Coming from Cannabis Sativa — a plant typically used for industrial purposes — it carries only trace amount of Tetrahydro-cannabinol, the principal psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Products being made from hemp must contain less than 0.3 percent THC in order to be legally sold in Wyoming.

Hemp products — such as ropes and fabrics — are manufactured from the male plant while medical and recreational uses of marijuana come from the female plant.
