Department Of Justice (Again) Stubs Out Progress For Medical Marijuana

Hilary Bricken

The Department of Justice has yet again graced us with another memo regarding how U.S. attorneys should argue against and prosecute medical marijuana criminal defendants. More specifically, the DOJ is making clear it does not view the 2014 Cromnibus as stopping federal criminal prosecutions for medical marijuana activity legal under state laws.  The DOJ authored this particular memo back in February, but it was just released to the public this month.

California: Distributor Fills Niche For Medical Marijuana Patients

As medical and recreational marijuana use becomes increasingly accepted in the United States, one Petaluma company is carving a niche as southern Sonoma County and northern Marin County’s medical marijuana provider, operating with a business model that eschews the brick-and-mortar dispensary in favor of in-home service.

Trading on the city’s name, Cannaluma Health & Wellness — the moniker is a combination of “cannabis” and “Petaluma” — has added an average of 100 clients each month since launching in early 2014, said co-founder Nicoma Campbell. The company delivers marijuana and prepared cannabis products to individuals throughout the region, all of whom join as co-owners of the company.

Hillary Clinton Confronted about Medical Marijuana by Iowa Mother

Despite Bernie Sanders’ surge, particularly in the first primary state of New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton remains the Democratic frontrunner and the odds-on favorite to be the next President of the United States. Thus, it remains extremely important that cannabis law reformers lobby Clinton to support sensible federal marijuana policies that build upon gains made under the Barack Obama Administration. Secretary Clinton hasn’t voiced the most progressive stances on marijuana policy in the past, actually out of step with her Democratic constituents. The Democratic frontrunner was confronted by an Iowa mother who made a desperate plea for the legalization of medical marijuana to help her daughter while Clinton was campaigning at the Iowa State Fair.

Marijuana Grow Nutrients Guide: The Advantages of Bat Guano and More

Ask three cannabis growers for their thoughts about nutrients, and you’re likely to get three different answers. As with green chile and grilled cheese sandwiches, everyone has their own recipes for growing pot, and everyone thinks theirs is the best. Do you go strictly organic, using tea and bat guano to naturally enrich your cannabis? Or do you pump up the nutrients every week for swollen buds and enhanced aromas?

The arguments are old, but the variables are newer. As legal marijuana advances around the country, so does the science surrounding it.

Family to seek emergency order on medical marijuana in New Jersey

MAPLE SHADE – The family of an autistic, epileptic Maple Shade teen say they’ll continue the legal battle to administer medical marijuana to their daughter on school grounds.

The Barbour family is expected to file an emergency order Monday in hopes of forcing the school district to allow Genny Barbour’s mother to give the teenager medical marijuana at school while the legal wrangling continues.

Last week, Administrative Law Judge John Kennedy denied the family’s appeal of an earlier ruling, again siding with the Larc School in Bellmawr and the Maple Shade School District, upholding their argument that state law does not allow the administration of medical marijuana on school grounds.
