Medical cannabis users still face challenges accessing prescription medicine

Medical cannabis patients still face too many practical barriers to access in countries where the drug is legal, including Canada, an international panel of advocates and experts at the Business of Cannabis Medical Cannabis conference in Toronto said Wednesday.

Long considered an international leader on medical cannabis, Canada has had a legal framework since 2001.

"Looking into the science, we came to the conclusion that there is actually a genetic basis for someone's reaction to THC," said Lem.

Through a simple cheek swab, Lobo Genetics examines three genes to see how your body interacts with THC.

Canadians' support for legal pot dropped in 2019; edibles interest mixed: Survey

Support for recreational cannabis among Canadians has dropped since the drug was legalized last year amid a shaky roll-out of legal pot and a still-robust black market, according to a survey published Thursday.

In a survey conducted by Dalhousie University and the University of Guelph, half of Canadians support the legalization of recreational cannabis, down from about 69 per cent back in 2017. Meanwhile, uncertain sentiment surrounding legalization has grown to 20 per cent of the country, up from about 7 per cent two years ago, the survey found.

Not to mention, more and more people favor the idea of legalizing cannabis, at least in the United States.
