Cannabis-infused beverages will make up 20% to 30% of the Canadian pot market and the joint venture between Molson Coors Brewing Co. and Hexo Corp. intends to be the leader in the segment, according to its chief executive officer.

Canada will allow beverages, along with edibles and other new formats, to be sold in legal dispensaries beginning in December. After legalization was originally limited to dried flower and oils, companies are now positioning themselves to take advantage of the new categories, which are expected to attract more consumer demand and generate higher margins.

The stock market has been doing well in 2019, and even for some of the best-performing stocks, there’s still an opportunity for investors to earn some good returns today. The three stocks listed below have risen significantly in value this year, but there’s still room for their share prices to climb even further.

Cannabis use is extremely common among adolescents and young adults, with an estimated 14% of students in the 10th grade, 23% of students in the 12th grade, and 22% of college students and young adults engaging in at least monthly use in 2016.1 In 2015, 1.8 million adolescents (aged 12-17 years) and 6.9 million young adults (aged 18-25 years) were current users of cannabis.2 Moreover, the problem is increasing: 30-day prevalence of use among students in the 12th grade rose from 19% in 2007 to 23% in 2017.3 There is even higher use in Canada: In 2013, an estimated 28% of youths aged 11 to 15 years admitted to using cannabis at

U.S. CBD Market a Huge Opportunity for Pot Stocks

There’s no doubt a lot of hype surrounding the future of the marijuana industry in the U.S. But sometimes that hype can blind people to the progress being made right now, and with that progress comes lucrative opportunities for the savvy investor. The U.S. cannabidiol (CBD) market is fresh and growing, and we’re only beginning to see what that will mean for marijuana stocks.

While I’ve been covering this prospect for a while now—ever since the U.S. legalized CBD, so in 2019, for all intents and purposes—but we’re starting to see some real movement on this front.

The symbols found on the packaging of legal recreational cannabis for sale in Saskatchewan are hard to miss: A red octagon with the letters THC and a stylized cannabis leaf; a white and yellow warning label advising users to keep the product out of the reach of children. 

But these symbols can also be found on illegal cannabis disguised to look like the legitimate product. 

Now, at least one member of Saskatoon's legal cannabis community is advising customers to use caution when ordering cannabis online, because while the product and website might look legitimate, they could be making an illegal purchase.

HEXO Corp. (NYSE:HEXO), the Canadian cannabis company, is in a tailspin. HEXO stock price is down about 20% this month, more than triple the June decline of the ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF (NYSEARCA:MJ). The June swoon has HEXO stock price about 35% below its 52-week high, more than enough to officially put the marijuana stock in a bear market.

Tilray Inc. (TLRY.O) has imported its first bulk supply of medical cannabis oil into the U.K., after controversy over the confiscation of one of the Canadian company’s products led to an easing of restrictions.

The oral solution, containing both the psychoactive THC and non-intoxicating CBD compounds, is used to treat pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and multiple sclerosis-associated spasticity. It has already been supplied in bulk to Germany, Croatia, Cyprus and Malta.

It finally happened: Canopy Growth Corp (TSX:WEED)(NYSE:CGC), the largest cannabis company by market cap, released its quarterly earnings. The much anticipated results weren’t very impressive, however. Let’s see why the investing world largely yawned at the pot company’s latest financial results.

Revenues keep soaring

To be clear, Canopy remains the leader in the Canadian cannabis market. The firm still holds the largest market share, beating all of its competitors in terms of net revenues. During the last quarter, Canopy’s net revenues were $94.1 million (narrowly edging consensus estimates), a 300% year-over-year increase and a 13% increase quarter over quarter. Naturally, most of Canopy’s revenues (about 73%) came from the recreational market.

ParcelPal Technology Inc. (CSE:PKG) (OTC:PTNYF), an online delivery service, is partnering with Shopify to improve the way people shop for cannabis online. ParcelPal will be integrating their delivery app with Shopify’s platform over the coming weeks. When it launches, Canadian LPs already on Shopify will be able to use the new app to deliver both medical and recreational cannabis across the territories.
