August was looking like it would be a very good month for Aphria (TSX:APHA)(NYSE:APHA) after the stock soared on a good earnings report. However, since then, the stock has faltered, and it has dropped in value along with other cannabis stocks.

Although cannabis has been legalized in Canada for almost a year, rumbles persist about supply shortages in both the recreational and medicinal markets. While recently released data from Health Canadashowcases strong growth in cannabis sales across the country, consumers provinces-wide continue to gripe about inefficiencies and dissatisfaction with regard to quality, product availability, pricing and delivery.

Many cannabis stocks have fallen well below their highs set earlier this year. Volatility in the overall stock market reflects a lot of uncertainty, with worries about the possibility of a recession and an intensifying trade war. The combination of these factors could make some investors afraid to buy any stock, much less a marijuana stock.

But taking a long-term view makes investing a lot less scary. If you think that the pot industry will expand dramatically over the next decade or more, investing in marijuana stocks during times of uncertainty could actually increase your returns over the long run.

The province has sold 2,084 kilograms of cannabis in the first six months of legalization, so just who is buying legal pot online in B.C.?

People in Chemainus, Gold River and Smithers — but Vancouver, not so much.

The government has sold more than $18 million worth of cannabis since legal sales began in B.C. last October. But Lower Mainland sales were slow compared to smaller towns, according to provincial data.

When it comes to legal pot sales, receipts show that transaction levels, per capita, are lowest in bigger cities close to Vancouver.

For years, promises of growth had been more than enough to send marijuana stock valuations higher. However, things changed when Canada legalized recreational marijuana and opened its doors to adult-use weed sales on Oct. 17, 2018. No longer are promises sufficient to send cannabis stock market caps higher. Instead, Wall Street is looking to marijuana stock operating results and allowing sales growth to do a lot of the talking.

The pot stocks have been fueled by the number of investments being done on a widespread scale. Not only does this pertain to acquisitions, but the number of investors looking to purchase cannabis stocks as well. All of this has led to one of the friendliest investor markets for finding pot stocks to watch. 

CBD has become quite the medical miracle since the United States legalized hemp-derived cannabinoids and removed it from the list of Controlled Substances back in December 2018. More and more countries seem to take a step forward into a future of better medical treatments with enhanced potency to cure life threatening ailments like Cancer. 

Though many people have resorted to CBD for reducing stress, anxiety, depression, swelling, pain, inflammation and even speedy recovery from accidents, it is not established as a fact how impactful CBD really is.
