Snoop Dogg has participated in an event in his home city of Los Angeles in which he helped to hand out 1,500 turkeys to families in need ahead of the American holiday thanksgiving this coming Thursday (November 26).

Mayor of Inglewood, California James Butts announced to TV channel KNBC-TV that Snoop had participated in the annual event for the second year running, taking hundreds of photos with fans. The event also handed out 800 turkeys to families last year.

According to Butts, the collaboration came about after the rapper asked the city what he could do to give back to the community last year.

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Supreme Court ruled Friday that medical marijuana cardholders don’t have immunity from prosecution under a state DUI law that prohibits drivers from having in their bodies any amount of marijuana or its chemical compound that causes impairment.

But the state high court’s unanimous decision also said cardholders can try to show in court that they didn’t have enough of the compound in their systems to be impaired. An attorney who filed a brief for a defense lawyers group said the ruling was welcome because it overturns a lower court’s ruling that medical marijuana cardholders could be prosecuted for merely driving after using marijuana.

“Now at least they can drive,” said David Euchner, an assistant Pima County public defender.

A representative for Liza Minnelli has dismissed allegations the veteran entertainer smokes marijuana.

Earlier this week, actor Leslie Odom Jr alleged Minnelli had been to see him as he performed in play Hamilton in New York City, while chatting to talk show host Seth Meyers.

He claimed she arrived in "a cloud of medicinal marijuana smoke", but said that made her "cool" in his book, a sentiment Minnelli does not share as her representative has completely dismissed his version of events.

As the state eased restrictions on marijuana licensing and opened a new round of applications for medical marijuana facilities applying for a state license to open as a retail store, the City of Renton last month passed an emergency ordinance limiting to five the total number of stores within the city.

According to City Attorney Larry Warren, the city received a letter from the state Liquor and Cannabis Board announcing their plans to lift the limit on the number of stores within a municipality, prompting action from the city.

"We were all a little surprised the Liquor Control Board took all of the restrictions off," Council President Ed Prince said this week.

"So we rushed our number through, five," Warren said.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) today signed on as a co-sponsor to the Marijuana Businesses Access to Banking Act of 2015 (S.1726), bipartisan legislation originally introduced by Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), which would give state-compliant cannabis businesses access to the banking system. Sen. Reid’s support for the banking measure comes as Nevada’s medical marijuana program has begun serving patients around the state.

The passage of the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act, which legalizes cannabis use by sufferers of certain debilitating medical conditions, has created concerns among health care providers, hospitals, health systems, pharmacies, nursing homes and other members of the health care community. Is it better for women to smoke marijuana when they're pregnant? Probably not, but a study conducted in New Zealand shows that children who were born from mothers who imbibed in cannabis when carrying scored better in an area of brain development, as opposed to those who didn't smoke weed.

The test from Auckland University took 165 children aged four and younger and asked them to watch multiple moving dots on a screen. They were then asked to identify the main direction that the dots moved in to help the researchers assess the youngsters' global motion perception.
