UK Government Response To Cannabis Petition: Fatuous, Dishonest And Misleading.

2016 presidential field full of marijuana users: report

The 2016 presidential field could be the most doped-up in history.

The Marijuana Policy Project said Wednesday that eight of the 23 major presidential candidates have either admitted or strongly suggested to having tried marijuana at some point in their lives: former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee, Sen. Ted Cruz, former New York Gov. George Pataki, Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Bernard Sanders and former Sen. Rick Santorum.

Just six have said they never used it at all: former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, businessman Donald Trump and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

Buddie the marijuana mascot draws complaints from children's advocates

Pro-marijuana group ResponsibleOhio introduced its new mascot to supporters this week, but its chosen face of marijuana legalization hasn't been a hit with everyone.

Part Superman, part cannabis plant, "Buddie" has a green marijuana bud for a head, sports six-pack abs and wears a cape. On his chest: The letter B over a cannabis leaf and the state of Ohio.

ResponsibleOhio posted photos of the mascot to Facebook. Followers drew instant comparisons between Buddie and Joe Camel, the cigarette mascot that was retired to settle a lawsuit alleging R.J. Reynolds used the cartoon character to market to children.

Barbara Yaffe: Vancouver needs a tax regime for marijuana sales

VANCOUVER — To tax or not to tax — that is the unanswered question now that Vancouver City Council has decided to regulate its marijuana dispensaries.

Various levels of government are finding themselves in an awkward situation as they determine whether to impose taxation on the businesses — and thereby confer further legitimacy on a commercial activity related to cannabis.

According to Canada’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, cannabis possession remains a federal offence unless it is for medicinal use and the user has a doctor’s prescription.

Cannabis Worth $7m Found Inside Cambodian Coffee

The Cambodian police showed off their latest haul earlier this week as they paraded around 1.5 tonnes of marijuana that had an estimated street value of nearly $7m.

Rightly pleased with themselves, this was another victory for the police force who are currently ploughing resources into an ongoing operation to crackdown and eradicate the drugs trade in the country.

General Khieu Samon, the head of the interior ministry’s anti-drug office, said that the haul had been seized in Cambodia’s capital city Phnom Penh and that a number of Cambodian nations had been arrested.

Drug dealer caught handing out flyers

A DRUG dealer has been arrested after passing around flyers advertising his wares – and including a sample of cannabis along with his forename and mobile number.

Using adverts typically seen in supermarket flyers, the 31-year-old man was attempting to boost trade and attract new customers in the Tonkin district of the Lyon suburb Villeurbanne.

His flyer even offered “Home delivery from €100” and included some cannabis resin stuck on with sellotape.

But his enterprising efforts were brought up short when one of the people who was given his advertising leaflet – a 50-year-old man leaving a hotel - promptly handed it to police.
